The CF80MAx counterflow drift eliminator offers a reliable and efficient way to manage moisture loss in cooling towers.Crafted from durable rigid PVC, it is built to perform under demanding operating conditions while ensuring minimal air pressure drop — ultimately reducing fan energy usage.
Unlike hybrid models used for both crossflow and counterflow towers, the CF80MAx is engineered specifically for counterflow systems. Its unique internal structure comprises interlocked, corrugated sinusoidal PVC sheets formingclosed cells. These cells create three abrupt directional changes for airflow, causing entrained droplets to be thrown out by centrifugal force and collected back into the wet zone.
Installation is streamlined with Brentwood’s patented glue-free Mechanical Assembly (MA) method, which enhancesenvironmental friendliness and simplifies on-site setup. The module’s beveled drainage tips significantly lower pressure drop—by as much as 25% at an air velocity of 800 fpm (4.1 m/s)—compared to flat-edge designs.
Modules nest seamlessly with adjacent units to eliminate gaps where drift droplets could bypass, ensuring consistent drift removal performance. Even when cut on-site to fit around structural elements like columns, they retain integrity.To achieve optimal sealing, the use of Dri-Seals is advised. When installed correctly, the drift loss is exceptionally low—just 0.0005% of the circulating water flow—verified according to CTI-HBIK Standard 140.
