Bio Media moving bed bio reactor reactor (MBBR) filter media has a well-documented history in filter applications. In the MBBR biofilm technology the biofilm grows protected within engineered plastic carriers, which are carefully designed with high internal surface area. These biofilm carriers are suspended and thoroughly mixed throughout the water phase. With this technology it is possible to handle extremely high loading conditions without any problems of clogging.And K3 Moving-Bed Biofilm Reactor Filter Media (MBBR) is efficient in creating the perfect environment for fish and plant life.

The K3 Bio MBBR Media provides maximum surface area for the growth of beneficial bcteria to support the nitrification cycle making this media very efficient. The large surface area builds strong good bcteria colonies to support the natural nitrification cycle in converting amonia to nitrits and nitrits to nitrats. The size of K3 filter media is 25mm x 10mm or 12mm with a surface area of >500 m2/m3 . The Bio MBBR Media is manufactured from virgin HDPE material. K3 Bio Media filter media has large specific surface area, which can increase the area where nitrifying bcteria attach. Its density is close to the water, so that it can flow through water.
