Metal Cascade Ring, or its miniature counterpart, features a height-to-diameter ratio of 1/2 or 1/3, with the addition of cone-shaped flanging at one edge. This design minimizes resistance as air passes through the bed layer and enhances voidage. Equipped with one or two beveled edges in their sidepieces, these rings exhibit superior mechanical strength and greater gas throughput capacity compared to pall rings. Metal Cascade Mini Rings (CMR Packings) are crafted from materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel (304, 304L, 410, 316, 316L, etc.), and aluminum alloy. Their thin walls, heat resistance, high void ratio, high capacity, low resistance, and superior separation efficiency make them well-suited for rectification towers operating under vacuum. This adaptability enables them to effectively treat thermo-sensitive, decomposable, polymerizable, or cokable systems. As a result, they find extensive use in packing towers within the petrochemical industry, chemical fertilizer industry, and environmental protection applications.
