CF150 Cellular Drift Eliminators for Counterflow Cooling Tower

Description

The CF150 Counterflow Cellular Drift Eliminators’ discharge angle is critical enough to require two separate designs—one for crossflow towers and one for counterflow towers. Tests have shown that the air direction leaving the cooling tower drift eliminator is extremely important—imperfect designs create additional work for the fan. This means either increased fan horsepower or reduced cooling tower performance. The crossflow version features drainage slots within the eliminator pack to ensure that trapped drift is returned to the wet side of the cooling tower.

Low drift rate is the primary goal of cooling tower drift eliminator design, with typical drift rates of 0.0005% of the total GPM. Lower drift rates may be achievable depending on tower configuration.

Marley cooling tower drift eliminators require little or no maintenance. If cleaning is necessary, care must be taken not to physically damage the PVC eliminator packs. For loose deposits of silt, fibers, etc., a water spray can be used, ensuring the spray nozzle remains in constant motion, and the water pressure is kept below 30 psi to avoid damage.
